Soon, yes! We’re gearing up to roll out a new beer club, slated for the end of 2022. We’re not quite sure what it will look like yet, but considering options, including pre-release beers, special membership events, cool products, savings on your sips, streamlined orders and shipping, savvy beer tech with an integrated app, and much more. Munich, Germany, no surprise! The 18-day-long Oktoberfest dates back to 1810, draws six million people, and is actually known for being not just the biggest beerfest but the biggest folk festival in the world. But we have a pretty rockin’ Oktoberfest ourselves, right here at yours truly: Poseidon Brewing. Think 20-ounce beer boots. Pretzel necklaces. Festive decorations. Lederhosen galore. German tunes. And our annual Oktoberfest seasonal beer called “Das Boot.”
Nope. We skipped straight to cans. So if you’re looking for beer to go, you’ve got a few options. Grab a four-pack from our robust selection of canned brews. Or mix it up, personalizing your picks with your own perfect pack. We also offer Poseidon Brewing Co. crowlers and growlers. Got your own? Poseidon Brewing has made multiple “pivots” to ensure its crew and customers feel both safe and comfortable. While we won’t police every customer or situation, we adhere to local, state and federal health and safety policies around mask wearing, social distancing, hygiene and respect.
Yep—in some cases, we do! On Military Night Thursday, we offer a 10% discount for those in the military as well as those who have served for 20+ years and are now retired. Proof of military ID required! Here’s a link to the ID we’ll be checking. Also, to all those in the beer industry, we offer a 15% discount on Tuesday nights with proof of ID in the form of a current paystub or schedule to verify you’re legit. And we give a 10% discount anytime to American Homebrewers Association members. Bring your membership ID card to get that 10% off! And from 8-10 p.m. on Saturdays, we have a reverse happy hour with $1.50 off pints and tulips of your favorite Poseidon beer.
We are a dog-friendly tasting room as long as your dog is friendly. Please follow these “Tasting Room Dog Etiquette Rules”: Dogs must be kept on a leash and within reach of their owner at all times. Avoid the “Three Bs”: Begging, Barking, and Biting. Please don’t allow your dog, even if it’s a small one, on our chairs, couches, tables, or the bar.
For festivals and those types of events, please fill out and submit this donation form. Please note, as a seven-barrel craft brewery, we are somewhat limited in our beer distribution. At the time, we currently donate beer to organizations and events in Ventura County and surrounding areas.
A number of places in Ventura County are proudly pouring Poseidon beer. At some, we are regularly on tap. At others, we make frequent appearances. Here’s Where to Buy Our Beer.
Depends on the day. Check out our Calendar of Events to see the food truck schedule. Keep in mind, you’re also welcome to bring your own food and enjoy that snack or meal as well.
We happily sell and fill Poseidon Brewing Co. growlers. We also fill generic clean ones in legally approved sizes (32 and/or 64 ounces) only. If you bring in another brewery’s growler, respectfully cover identifying artwork with shrink wrap, painter’s tape, or another material, so your growler looks, well, truly generic. Also, please make sure your growler is clean when you bring it in for a fill. While we’ll give it a quick wash and sanitize before refilling it, we are not able to clean and fill those that have become super funky, i.e. growing 3-dimensional mold inside.

Well-mannered children are always welcome in our taproom. However, we ask that they not sit at the bar.
Give us a call first—we don’t want to overpromise and underdeliver. Then please follow up with an e-mail, giving us your name, approximate number in party, arrival date and time, and phone number.
Our beer rocks. So it’s the focal point. But you can count on us for occasional live music, weekly Trivia Wednesdays, monthly Paint-n-Pint classes, holiday festivities and, of course, new Poseidon beer and cask releases. See our Calendar, featuring all that’s going on, plus our food truck schedule.
You bet! We have a rotating tap of flavorful sparkling waters made right here at Poseidon Brewing. If looking for a non-beer option, go for the sparkly! Whether it’s tangerine today or pineapple tomorrow, you’ll find these custom-crafted beverages refreshing and delightful!
Like any ole bell, it sometimes gets rung!!! But truth be told, there’s no rhyme or reason as to when or why. What we do know: This nautical relic clearly came from some old, decommissioned ship. And today…at the very least..this nautical fixture makes for some interesting bar room talk!
That’s like asking Poseidon’s co-proprietor and head brewer to choose between his kids! But if he has to choose, he’ll pick the Dirty Diver Double IPA. Packed with character, it’s balanced, smooth, and boasts 8.8% ABV. It’s a work of art.
In short, two people—both in love and sharing a love for great craft beer—figured out the biz. But the deep-dive story is really good. Poseidon gives back and donates to our community in various ways, but we’ve recently modified this fundraising opportunity so to serve our community in smarter ways. That said, Ventura area 501(c)3 organizations are welcome to fill out our Giving application. We do have basic guidelines and expectations for the partners we select and giving options we offer. We’ll be in touch if we feel we can help.
Heck yeah! If there’s one thing every Poseidon Crew member has in common, it’s a serious respect for people ‘n pints. Sharing and having great parties around our great brew is our passion. We are thrilled to offer several spaces for groups or organizations to rent: Davy Jones Locker + brewery + patio, our original taproom and brewery, great for small functions, parties, weddings and meetings (seats 40+ in taproom, 80+ including brewery); The Diving Bell, our semi-private space off the Main Taproom (seats 15); and our tastefully designed Main Taproom, with plenty of space to spread out, mix and mingle, and enjoy delicious brews (seats 100-plus). Hands down, Poseidon Brewing’s Grapefruit IPA is our flagship beer. Our Grapefruit IPA is brewed with American hops and malts in conjunction with fresh grapefruit zest from Mud Creek Ranch in Santa Paula, CA. Grapefruit aromatics and flavors are present as well as a pleasant floral component that accentuates the hop profile of this easy-drinking IPA. 58 IBUS 7% ABV

Yes! The majority of our beers are vegan, with the exception of our casks. And any beers that aren’t vegan, we’ll call that out on the menu under the beer’s ingredients. For example, you may see “lactose” or “oysters” (for our oyster stout).

Reclaimed wormwood. This reclaimed golden-brown wood is featured throughout Davy Jones’ Locker, around picture frames, table tops, the bar itself and more. A plaque posted in our original taproom tells the history of this wood, which came from the Columbia River region of the Pacific Northwest. Fine-grained ancient trees were used to build cargo vessels in the 1800s. Over time, these abandoned ships would sink or get washed into waterways and bayous. Reclaimed by timber companies and moved up and down the Pacific Coast, the timbers would fall victim to the marine “boring mollusk” that would worm its way through the wood, leaving interesting patterns in their path.
