Malt forward, balanced, chocolate/roast

This is a robust porter bursting with hearty malt flavors including hints of toffee, cacao beans, freshly ground coffee and toasted hazelnuts. Crystal hops were used to provide a delicate and mild hop profile. However, we added peppermint and chocolate to this beer, which makes it a distinctly festive, holiday experience. Pokers’ Porter was named for Poseidon Brewing Company’s first “brew dog.” Although no longer with us, he used to frequently be seen guarding our brewhouse. His robust personality inspired us to name a beer in his honor and we now brew it in memory of him. Just like the real Pokers used to be, this robust porter is full-bodied and jam-packed with personality.
